Things one ought not speak of at work vs. lack of privacy in the US

There's a guy in my office who's about 23 or 24. Today he was complaining to everyone who stopped by his cubicle that he had to go to jail for the next two months.

It's the legendary Phoenix, Arizona "tent city" jail too. Granted, he gets out every day early in the morning and has to be back by a certain time - i.e. he can go to work but he sleeps all night and spends every weekend in jail.

It took about ten minutes for the link to his court case to make its way company wide through instant messaging. Poor guy.... should've kept his mouth shut.
